The PSTG is the acronym for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and it is a battery of tests designed to detect signs of this mental health disorder in people. PTSD is a brain disorder that can result in memory loss, nightmares, flashbacks, agitation, mood swings, and feelings of impending doom. As you might expect, if there is even the slightest sign of PTSD in someone you know then you need to get them tested for this disorder. The PSTG will involve the use of a certain measure that will provide information on the severity of PTSD in the patient.

This PTSD test online free was created as a screening tool to aid mental health professionals to diagnose their patients with PTSD and assess how serious their condition might be. Since the creation of the PSTG, several different criteria for PTSD symptoms have been created and these include the PTSD IES scale, the PTSD SMART scale, and the PTSD MOT scale. These four criteria are designed to provide an assessment of the severity of PTSD. The PSTG will compare your symptom to the PSTG's specific criterion and therefore determine your level of disability with regards to PTSD. Once a diagnosis has been made then treatment can begin.

The PSTG assesses four factors when testing for PTSD symptoms manifestation. These are insomnia, fatigue, nightmares, and flashbacks. The higher the score, the more likely you are to have PTSD. The PSTG assesses these four factors in length and frequency.

The four criteria of the PSTG are very specific and relate to specific situations and people. For instance, if a person has insomnia then they would be assessed with the PSTG criterion of a high level of disability due to PTSD. If a person has PTSD then they would also be assessed with the PSTG criterion of having a history of stress-related psychological disorders. The third criterion would be that the person has a history of nightmares or flashbacks. Finally, the fourth criterion is that the person has a negative trait related to stress and/or anxiety. Once all four criteria have been met then a positive PTSD-related outcome can be determined.

Once all four PTSD screening test criteria are met then a correlation analysis can be conducted. The correlation analysis compares the value of the PTSD symptoms manifestation against the values for each of the PTSD criteria. This correlation analysis will tell if there is a significant difference between the groups. If so, then the PTSD screening tool is confirmed as effective. Once all four criterion changes reliability has been determined, then a final set of metrics was created using the four criteria. The new metrics included four summary measurements for each PTSD criterion. Each of the four summary measurements is relative to a specific time period and is also relative to a specific person. The weights for the four measurements are also different. This makes it difficult to create a simple comparison between two groups.
